Peritoneal Dialysis

In peritoneal dialysis, small blood vessels in the abdominal wall (peritoneum) filter blood using a dialysis solution. This solution is a type of cleaning fluid that contains water, salt, and other additives.
Peritoneal dialysis is done at home. There are two ways to do this treatment: A. Automated peritoneal dialysis uses a machine called a cycler. B. Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) is done manually.
